Height: 29 inches (71st percentile)

Head Circumference: 18.75 inches (95th percentile)
Milestones: Little Peanut is quickly becoming BIG trouble! He is now able to speed-crawl anywhere he pleases. He pulls up, cruises, and walks using anything he can hold or push. It would be very helpful if you could all pray for us now because i can't even imagine what will happen when he starts walking and *gulp* running. He also LOVES to climb. The height of a stair is about as much as he can do so far, but he thinks it's hilarious if we lay in the floor and let him crawl over us like we're roadkill. He now recognizes that i am his "Mama" and Jake is his "Dada" and he will turn his head to look at us when asked "Where is mama/dada?" He also has started saying "Mama, mamamamamama" to me and it just melts my heart. I'm fairly certain he knows this and is secretly using it to manipulate me but i don't mind because it's so darn cute. He can wave, bang two objects together (or slap his hand on the crib rail to let us know it's time to get up), imitate sounds, flirt, and generally arrange things so that he gets whatever he wants. But he's not at all spoiled.
Favorites: Flirting with girls (especially blondes), dumping out the cat water all over the floor and playing in it, walking up and down the hall with his dinosaur, the cats
Sounds: Ryan can now imitate most "sounds" we make. Last night he was playing with the fan when i did the grunty "nuh-uh" sound. He paused a second, looked at me, and growled it back! He does the same thing with blowing raspberries, smacking sounds, pig snorts, etc.
Foods: Well that changed fast! Ryan now eats real food. We try to give him little bits of whatever we are eating and have just recently given him meat. He eats so well now! Yesterday he downed two whole peaches without hesitation. He particularly loves Williamson Brothers BBQ. A picture of his very first burger is below. Daddy made it Peanut-sized.
Hours I Let Mommy Sleep: He's currently a perfect sleeper. He sleeps 11-12 hours at night and has a very predictable 2 nap schedule so that it makes planning things a little easier. He will only sleep at home in his crib, though, so that throws a wrench in things sometimes.
Other News: Ryan's 9 month checkup was yesterday and it went pretty well. He only had one vaccine and he cried for a minute but apple juice fixed that pretty fast. He actually got the most upset when the doctor was trying to look in his mouth and ears because we had to hold him still and he *hates* being held down and messing with his face. He wants to do everything himself now. His weight percentile actually dropped a lot but the doctor didn't seem concerned and his head is still big but the doctor just said we'll see how it is at his next appointment. Ryan has such a little personality now and cracks me up all the time. I love this age and can't wait to see how much he changes by next month. ;)
He's a very proud Daddy!

Height: ~28.5 inches (77th percentile)
Weight: 21 pounds 8 ounces (79th percentile)
Head Circumference: 18.6 inches (96th percentile)
Milestones: Oh nooooooo! It's starting. Ryan is now mobile. In just a few short days he has mastered crawling and is going everywhere and getting into everything! As i was getting ready for work he crawled into the bathroom and started opening cabinets so i moved him back into the bedroom....and he just crawled right back to the cabinets...THREE TIMES. He can also pull himself up to standing and wants to do this ALL the time using *anything* he can grab. He tried to pull up using Dala...that didn't go over so well. He can also go from belly to a sitting position and from sitting to crawling or pulling up to stand. I don't think he understands certain emotions yet (or either he just doesn't care). Whenever i fake-cry at him he laughs at me. However, if anyone smiles or laughs at him he gets very happy and smiley. He now understands object permanence. When we hide around the corner or play peek-a-boo he looks for us. He can wave hi and bye! It's so cute.
Favorites: Pulling up on anything and everything, a fascination with power cords, electronic equipment, cabinets, and anything else dangerous, grabbing anything he can find and sticking it in his mouth, visiting mommy at work and flirting with all the girls
Sounds: He has found his voice...and it's LOUD. He just ignores me when i tell him to use his inside voice, too. He can say "mama" and "dada" but it is still random jibber-jabber.
Foods: He eats finger foods very well, but i still feed him baby food because i don't know how much or what finger foods to feed him at this point. He loves watermelon in his mesh feeder bag, eats beans, peas, pasta, grapes, has had a few little tastes of meat, and other mushy things at restaurants.
Hours I Let Mommy Sleep: He's a pretty great sleeper at night, but lately he's been giving us a hard time with naps. He's down to 2 naps per day. The first one is generally no issue, but many times he fights his afternoon nap even though he's EXHAUSTED. Maybe it's just because he started crawling and that's exciting and keeps him awake? Hopefully it will get better.
Other News: We are so behind in babyproofing! We got a foam cover to go over the fireplace, which is great because it was stone with sharp, jagged edges. Jake has installed some of the cabinet and drawer locks but they are hard as crap to install. We still have a lot more to do. They're the standard catches that allow the cabinet or drawer to open about an inch...so i don't know if that will even work because he's already almost smashed his fingers in that gap. Anyone else have experience with a different kind of cabinet/drawer lock that they recommend? We also need to get some type of banister guard for the steps. Jake wants to get plexiglass, so we need to go in search of that this weekend.
I'm so lucky to be the Mommy of such an amazing, sweet, well-behaved (so far) little boy!
Height: ~28 inches (81th percentile)
Weight: 20 pounds 6 ounces (80th percentile)
Head Circumference: 18.3 inches (94th percentile)
Milestones: Ryan wants soooo badly to be mobile, but he isn't quite there yet. He can go from his sitting position to belly and will occasionally get on all fours and rock for a second, but for the most part when he's on his tummy it still touches the floor. He's got the concept of pushing up off the ground with his arms, and with his legs....just not at the same time. So many times he'll get frustrated because he head-plants on the floor and sticks his butt in the air and that just doesn't get him anywhere. He rolls alll over the place and grabs everything his little hands can find. It's particularly troublesome when you're trying to diaper or dress him and he flips over and starts lunging for whatever object he has his eye on. He also loves to stand and can do so holding on to an object or our hands, and he tries to pull up but hasn't figured out how to get his butt off the ground yet. He now drinks solely from a sippy cup, has his two bottom teeth, and can pick up food with the "pincer grasp" using his finger and thumb. He is fascinated with the outdoors so we go on walks often. I've noticed that he follows objects beyond his field of vision. Today a bird flew overhead and he turned his head and followed it until it was out of sight. He watched our neighbor going back and forth cutting grass and gave him a big grin. (Previously once anything left his field of vision it was just completely gone to him) And he looks for sounds, too! This evening it was thundering and he kept looking up at the sky trying to figure out what he was hearing. Separation anxiety is setting in. The other day i was talking to him while he was in the jumperoo and walked out of the room to go grab something and he started bawling even though Jake was sitting right there with him! (Ok that one made me feel a little loved, but i'm sure it will get old ) :P
Favorites: Puffs! Grabbing anything and everything in sight, blowing raspberries, going for walks
Sounds: Dadadada is his usual response to any question you ask him. He babbles all the time and loves to "scream", which is where he screams but very little sound comes out. It's quite funny to watch, and i'm thankful it's not the loud version. I told him to keep practicing the silent scream for his temper tantrum phase.
Foods: He's starting to get more picky and will definitely let you know when he's had enough. Either his lips clamp shut and he turns his head, or he blows raspberries with a mouth full of food and you end up with it all over your face. The he laughs at you.
Hours I Let Mommy Sleep: He still rolls all over his crib, but usually it doesn't wake him up anymore. Most of the time when he does wake up he finds his pacifier, plops it back in his mouth and goes right back to sleep. Lately we've been having a few issues with waking during the night and not napping long enough so we're fiddling with his sleep schedule and trying an earlier bedtime. I hope it works out so that i can still see him a few minutes before bed on the days i have to work 'til 6.
Other News: Ryan is generally a very happy and pleasant baby, but i can already see his stubborn side peeking through. He gets pretty mad if he doesn't get what he wants. We're way behind on baby-proofing because Ryan can already roll, scoot, and push himself all over the place and he is now getting up on his hands and knees for brief periods so i think crawling is in our near future. I'm also at a loss of what to give him now that he can eat finger foods. I'm too scared to give him anything because i'm scared he won't chew it and will choke. So far he's had the puffs, yogurt melts, watermelon in a mesh feeding bag, and cheerios. I cooked some carrots yesterday and tried to cut them in itty bitty teeny-tiny pieces but they were hard for him to pick up and to chew because he ended up chewing and then spitting the majority of them back out. Any suggestions for just-starting-out finger foods?
