My evil (warm & fuzzy) plan has worked! I have officially turned Jake into a cat lover too. My goal is to enact my evil-warm&fuzzy-plan one person at a time...

Dala had yet another checkup at the vet yesterday. As soon as we arrived Jake stepped in front of a cage in the waiting room and told me to look away. Of course i pushed him out of the way only to find four of the cutest kittens ever! We spent the next 15 minutes playing with them. For being a cat lover i'm actually pretty particular about what kitten i'd choose (female, short hair but soft and thick like Anakin and Dala's, preferably Calico) so right away i knew these weren't for me. Dala gave her 2 cents by hissing from the carrier box. There were 3 boys and 1 girl. A solid black boy that looked just like Poptart when he was a baby, 1 boy and 1 girl black and white, and a striped little tabby named Oliver. I would definitely have taken home Oliver but Dala vetoed my idea. Anyway, how do i know Jake is under my warm&fuzzy spell? Well he kept talking about the kittens long after we'd left. He told John and Jenn all about them. He kept saying how we have the cutest cats ever. He sat in the back seat with Dala so she could come out of her crate. AND he asked me on the way home: "Do you think there's enough cats in the world for every person to have one?" and i told him probably, since they have to kill so many at shelters. His response? "I think everyone should have a cat" I'm so going to be a crazy cat lady :)

I just heard back from the vet and Dala's thyroid is finally in normal range! We got Pill Pockets and she has no idea she's even taking medicine she gobbles them up so fast. So, since giving her the medicine isn't an issue i think we're going to wait on the Radioiodine treatment until after i have a baby just to be safe. Her kidney values look good as well (yay!) but she has two new problems. She has cat acne and possible high blood pressure. The vet told us to change her water bowls to stainless steel (apparently bacteria can linger on the rim of plastic and ceramic ones and get on her chin) and to use a Stridex pad once a day. Yes, those are the same acne pads that teenagers use. Hopefully this will help because she's had it for 3 weeks now. As for the high blood pressure: They took her blood pressure 3 times in a row. The first two were high (153/93, 180/102) but could be explained because she was at the vet and freaking out. But the last one was really high (212/111) and the vet was concerned. She said it could be that she was tired of being messed with and she moved around and messed it up, but at any rate they want to recheck it in a couple weeks and if it remains high she'll have to have high blood pressure medicine. Oy vey! I really think it was most likely because she was freaking out at being at the vet, plus they had just drawn blood and been messing with her so she was probably pissed, plus she was in the back and was thinking "Oh no! They're giving me away to the mean people with needles!" since we weren't anywhere to be found. I guess we'll find out!
