Random Vents

1) I'm unhappy at work and that makes me sad 'cuz i've always loved my job.

2) Not being able to eat whatever i want, like i did when i was a teenager, sucks.

3) Slow drivers really make me sympathize with the whole Road Rage thing.

4) I'm getting sick of all this gloomy rain.

5) If my 401k loses one more freakin' cent i'm gonna go ballistic on someone's ass.

6) When Jake is out of town and calls me at 5:45am to chat because he can't sleep it makes me think of pleasant things like this list. Especially when my alarm is set to go off at 6:45am. And i'm having a heart attack because the *only* reason i can think of to call someone at that hour would be because something terrible has happened.

Wow, how's that for "sugar and spice and everything nice?" :P

Shocked and Awed...In a Good Way!

So today the most amazing thing happened. The powers-that-be scheduled special training sessions on FIVE different days.....JUST FOR US! And if that weren't great enough, it's going to take place at the store right down the street from me (rather than Suwanee, Stockbridge, or Downtown ATL.) Is it weird that i'm so thrilled and excited about computer training?

On another note I just received my clothes from Body Central and i actually like the majority of them. For anyone who has EVER been shopping with me (ahem, Ally) they can attest to my bringing in 20 things to try on and keeping maybe one of them. I just saved myself hours of trying on things i'm not going to buy....at the expense of $25 shipping. I guess it's worth it. Now I'm headed to Jenn's for dinner and she's going to suffer what Ally used to whine endlessly about....she has to watch me try on everything and tell me whether to keep it...muhahahaha.

Step 1: Admitting You Have a Problem

Ok, i admit it. I'm a control freak. I'm butt-headed and can't stand it when i'm powerless. At least i don't deny it. But i'm a weird kind of control freak. Because i only want to be in control in certain situations. Take work for example. Never ever ever would i want to be the manager. I'm thrilled i don't have to make the schedule. I'm not in charge of hiring, firing, or pay raises. I like it just the way it is (well...except for when people don't do it my way.)

But this new computer system is coming in 2 weeks. There's about 15 of us that need training and only 2 people can train at a time. There are NO open sessions available. I wouldn't be so worried if I didn't just go work at another store today to try and learn it myself. We really REALLY need this training or it's going to be a huge disaster. And i'm freaking out because aside from myself i can't do anything about it. And running the pharmacy single-handedly, while a lofty goal, is completely and utterly out of the question...no way no how. What if no training sessions open up or people don't go to the training? At this point it seems almost impossible to accomplish in 2 weeks. OMG (pause for panic attack) i have no control!!!!!

If people would just listen and do what i tell them it would really make everyone's life a whole lot easier. Geez, doesn't everyone realize that? Lolo knows best!

Kitty Allergies

I feel so bad for my poor cat. Every March she gets what I assume to be allergies from pollen and chews all the fur off of her belly! We've taken her to the vet before about it and they give her antihistamines that don't seem to work. I think we'll try to take her again this year and see if they can recommend anything else.

This is obviously not a picture of Dala...she wouldn't behave long enough for me to take one. But at least you get the idea...

I'm Probably Gonna Be Regrettin' This

We worked outside all day again. We spread out 2 GIANT bags of mulch (and still need more) and i worked my ass off planting flowers. I'm gonna be sooooo sore tomorrow. Cassandra was *supposed* to help me....don't worry, she'll pay for it some way some how! :P Here are some pictures for you to enjoy!

First up is what kitties like to do outside. Yes that brown cat used to be jet black....

Pre-mulch...

The bulbs i planted upside-down and sideways DID grow....

Tulips begginning to bloom...

My new trees. Cherry on the left, Peach on the right, Pink Dogwood in the far center...

My baby grasses!...

Halfway through flowers and mulch....

Flowers and mulch before quitting time...

Creepy Neighbors

So on our walk tonight we passed the house down the street that always goes all-out for Halloween (and every other holiday). We're talking ghosts, lights, fog machine, tombstones....you get the idea. This is also the house that had their Christmas tree up until the beginning of March. They're night owls like me because they always have lights on when we go on our 1am walks. Anyway, so tonight we're walking by and i notice there's one of their Halloween things "staring" out the window with the whole Scream mask thing going on......only when i look back a minute later it's GONE. It was totally one of the people that lived there! How creepy is that?

Grasses...i has them!

OMG! I has Grasses!! I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for the stupid grass seed to sprout and then last weekend it poured rain for 5 days. So i was scared my grass drowned, but tonight there were baby grasses! YAY!! We're doing yardwork tomorrow so i'll take pics and see how much has actually sprouted but hopefully the trend will continue.
